Proma Khosla Mashable The movie packs a helluva lot of plot into a tight 77-minute run time (current Disney execs, take note). matthias s *Aladdin and the King of Thieves* gets a solid 3 stars from me—nothing groundbreaking, but a real treat for Disney fans. First off, Robin Williams is back as the Genie, and honestly, that’s half the magic right there. He brings the heart, the laughs, and that wild energy we missed in *Return of Jafar*. This one feels way more like a real Disney flick—charm, adventure, and a bit of that classic sparkle. The story of Aladdin meeting his long-lost dad (who’s literally the King of Thieves) is a fun twist, and the “open sesame” cave? Totally satisfying callback to the old tales. The songs are decent, not iconic, but they work. Sure, the animation isn’t theater-level, but it holds up fine. If you love the original *Aladdin*, this is like a warm, nostalgic dessert—not perfect, but sweet and totally worth it. Watch it for Genie alone. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/03/25 Full Review Topher S the midas touch stuff is really fun Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Amir S A children's film from my childhood, recommended for viewing, the twists are good and the villains are also good and well written. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review Dale R The threequel to Aladdin and The Return of Jafar is created by Disneytoon Studios, which is their television animation division and serves as the series finale to the cartoon series. This was a straight to DVD release. Overall this is a superior film to The Return of Jafar as the animation is better, the story is better (and based on another story from One Thousand and One Nights) and you can tell there was some money, effort and love put into this film. Robin Williams returns as the Genie and does his usual improvisational style. Jerry Orbach plays the King of Thieves and does just as amazing a job as he did voicing Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast. The rest of the voice actors return and do a great job with their characters as usual. The songs are good, but none really stood out to me as memorable or great. Some of the character animation, especially Jasmine, was a little off to me. The ending was satisfying for all the characters and the movie trilogy. I would recommend giving this film a watch, even if you haven’t seen the sequel. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Luna W This is a direct to video sequel to Aladdin: The Return of Jafar, which was the sequel to Aladdin. In my opinion this is the better of the sequels made for Aladdin. We finally get to see and adventure with Aladdin's father. The songs are not as good as the original but this film brings out the original Robin Williams as genie and it has lots of fun laughs that may go over a child's head but is a happy treat for parents. A must see for Aladdin fans. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Nathan B Adopt me Daddio!!!!!!!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/06/24 Full Review Read all reviews
