Glenn Kenny New York Times "Alex Strangelove" is witty, compassionate and enjoyable throughout; a charming movie and in many respects an enlightened one. Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Alex Barasch Slate Alex Strangelove ultimately serves as a funny-and occasionally filthy-commentary on heteronormativity and the work that goes into overcoming certain ingrained expectations about the trajectory of a life. Jun 14, 2018 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com As a modern coming-of-age movie, one that's especially meant to keep the progressive values of teen Netflix on the home page for another week or so, it does have a fair amount of charm. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 9, 2018 Full Review Ben Turner The Pink Lens As Netflix Sunday afternoon sofa-coma fluff goes, this is like a nice glass of cool lemonade; the problem is, Love, Simon is more like a strawberry daiquiri, decorated with an umbrella AND a sparkler. Rated: 3/5 Sep 1, 2021 Full Review Karl Delossantos Smash Cut Reviews I pined for more scenes of Alex and Elliott's chemistry, which to the credit of [Daniel] Doheny and [Antonio] Marziale, is palpable. I wish we got more of that movie. Rated: 2/5 Aug 5, 2019 Full Review Sara Clements Much Ado About Cinema A touching film that hits familiar John Hughes-esque territory, but delivers a raunchy, comedic and heartwarming story of self-discovery. Rated: 3/5 Apr 13, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Max H It was your typical highschool movie ofc so that's already a low score but also annoyed me that the main character reminded me too much of myself otherwise it was cool. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/11/24 Full Review Wiktor R What have I just watched? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Jeff M Director Craig Johnson made THE SKELETON TWINS, one of my personal top 100 movies ever, so when I found out he directed this film, I made it a priority to check this out. And while it's certainly not in the league of his earlier effort, this is still a very enjoyable and appealing movie - if you liked LOVE, SIMON a couple years back, you are bound to find much to enjoy here. That being said, I found the film's tone a bit schizophrenic - going from a gross-out teenage sex comedy in one scene to an insightful and moving drama in the next. The three actors comprising the love triangle are all superb, particularly Weinstein, who absolutely shines in the end moments of this film and sells what could have been a mawkish and overly sentimental finale. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Alec B Even if the beats are predictable it feels honest, like Johnson is pulling from his own memories. It's also funny which is a bit of a relief. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/24 Full Review Corey J i liked it. it fills the void that Love, Simon leaves, as I for some undefinable reason absolutely dislike Love, Simon. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/22/23 Full Review Kelly M I can't remember the last time I cringed this much watching a film. The dialogue is absolutely ridiculous, feels like a 40 year old's idea of what teenagers sound like. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
