Jack B This had potential, but Alibi's gullibility was so extreme it became annoying. Gullible is one thing, plain old stupidity is quite another. Olivia DeHaviland is so lovely and her face, smile and animated face remind you of why she became such a huge star. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review ashley h Alibi Ike is a boring movie. It is about new recruit Francis "Ike" Farrell who tries to help the Cubs to the pennant with his pitching and hitting. Joe E. Brown and Olivia de Havilland give horrible performances. The screenplay is badly written. Ray Enright did a terrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Good showcase for Joe E. Brown is a silly bit of nonsense. Olivia was just starting out and has little to do but looks beautiful. The kind of lightweight piffle the studios churned out on a regular basis in the 30's to fill a double bill with a big budget picture. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member baseball pic vehicle for brown Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Snappy at the start and the finish; kind of lags in the middle (even for a 72 minute movie). Nonetheless, a real charming obscure little baseball comedy.
