victor o I saw this for Maria Ford, but I got a nice surprise, Lisa Boyle. Nothing like a B-movie with some gorgeous women to spend an hour and a half of time. Contrary to the title, this film has nothing to do with either of the epic film franchises. If anything, it has more in common with Pauly Shore's Biodome with hammier acting. A group of men and women of various scientific and military training have spent the better part of two years in isolation at an underground corporate facility. It appears to be an experiment in forced isolation as well as top-secret research for the betterment of mankind. That is not the case, as it turns out one of the scientists has been ordered by the corporation to create weaponized biological agents and in the last two days of the isolation achieves a breakthrough that ends up causing chaos. The rest of the crew must do all they can to survive as a brand-new biological entity wreaks havoc upon them as they do all they can to survive. This movie is a straight-up cheap monster movie. Cheesy acting but all things considered it was not half bad, but it wasn't great either. Given the right story, Maria Ford can be a good actress in her own right, the same with Lisa Boyle. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Rousing sci-fi has underground scientific researcher creating a new virus that threatens all of mankind if it is unleashed. Maria Ford excites as usual and is given able support by Cassandra Leigh as two budding young scientists. Cost-cutting Corman production at its finest with little budget allocated to setting, wardrobe and no need for extras. One benefit of working for Earthtek appears to be an unlimited supply of company t-shirts. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A scientist working five miles below the earth's surface develops a deadly new organism. At least New Horizons gives a nod to the films it rips off. The meal scene is as shamelessly close to the Alien scene as you will find.
