William Bibbiani TheWrap For the most part, a collection of teen-movie and Sundance-Film-Festival clichés, but at least the collection is lovingly curated. Jan 21, 2023 Full Review Alan Ng Film Threat Aliens is quite refreshing to watch. Rated: 7/10 Jul 3, 2023 Full Review Terry Mesnard Gayly Dreadful It’s not an egregious movie and it does have some heartfelt things to say, but boy that ending sure was dumb. Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 30, 2023 Full Review Mike McGranaghan Aisle Seat It plays like Close Encounters of the Third Kind melded to a John Hughes film. Rated: 3/4 Mar 24, 2023 Full Review Louisa Moore Screen Zealots Cliché-ridden and clunky, this young adult movie is a simple tale about friendship, celebrating our differences, and finding a place where you belong. The universal message about embracing the special things in everyday life makes it appealing. Feb 23, 2023 Full Review M.N. Miller Ready Steady Cut While Jacob Buster is charming in the role, the film hardly builds up enough goodwill to look past the humungous plot holes and lazy storytelling, no matter how much 80s science family film nostalgia Jake Van Wagoner tries to distract his audience with. Audience Member This is a teenage and up movie. It’s so sad in places that I would not call this a comedy. It’s a good movie though for older kids and parents. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review X O I thought there would be potential in this, but there are so many holes in the story. Wouldn't every other kid know the story of the main lead? Why isn't he all over his mother and screaming to find out what happened? But then, the ending is so stupid. Why 'abduct' only the Dad? Why do the aliens appear 10 years later and say g'day? It's so stupid. Really, I'd forget it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/17/23 Full Review Peter K Finally! A really nice, sweet and fanciful film for the whole family to enjoy! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/30/23 Full Review Rebecca M Creative, quirky, at times serious and thought-provoking, family-friendly, and fun. Loved it! Easy to see why it won "Best of Fest" at the Sundance Film Festival! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/30/23 Full Review Dan A Fun, sweet, Spielberg-esque, 80s-style throwback (but set in the present), family sci-fi story. Like Close Encounters, Super8, and Stranger Things. Nice work. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
