Christina Newland iNews.co.uk Tom Stourton stars in a drolly funny dark comedy of manners about social anxiety, obnoxious banter and subtly brutal class dynamics. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) What the film does is it walks this tightrope between being on the one hand funny and on the other hand creepy and unsettling and slightly horrifying and it's a very difficult balancing act... All My Friends Hate Me manages to keep that balance. Jan 11, 2024 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times Shares DNA with both the social dread of Ruben Östlund’s get-togethers and the leylines of Ben Wheatley. Hints of English folk horror — a pitbull tied up near a car, accusing looks at the driven grouse shoot — add to the delicious disquiet. Rated: 4/5 Jul 16, 2022 Full Review Serena Seghedoni Loud and Clear Reviews All My Friends Hate Me is a deliciously disquieting, paranoia-fuelled social anxiety horror-comedy made even more hilarious and meaningful by how incredibly relatable it is. Rated: 4/5 Aug 13, 2023 Full Review Dolores Quintana Dolores Quintana ALL MY FRIENDS HATE ME is a murderously funny horror-comedy where the real body count consists of the character’s relationships, friendships and, possibly, their souls. Dec 28, 2022 Full Review Dominic Corry New Zealand Herald This disturbingly relatable dark British comedy/thriller does an amazing job of turning social anxiety and general awkwardness into excruciating cinematic terror, while also being very funny. Lorelei C Interesting, but not great Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/20/22 Full Review Audience Member There was a lot of talking and to be frank it was a little boring. I still found it difficult to reconcile the differences in how his friends perceived him and how he perceives himself, so there's definitely some things messed up with his memory. I also think his friends are not good people, they take jokes too far and when they offend, they act like it's his problem for not being able to take a joke. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/09/24 Full Review Jonah K wonderfully uncomfortable, despite the fact that it doesn’t really clarify itself in the end. if everything that happens actually happened, then i hate the main character and all of his friends. if everything that happened was unreliably viewed through the lens of anxiety, then this is quite an empathetic look at this particular mental health experience. on one hand, i appreciate the ambiguity, but it also makes me… anxious. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Chester I would be a stretch to call this movie a horror film or thriller or comedy. It is a mystery more than anything else. It seems all the central character's (Pete's) "friends" are "gaslighting" him: performing a joke so elaborate, that he begins to question his own sanity. They seem like the obnoxious types to do this. The mystery to me was: why was he even friends with them in the first place ( 10 years earlier at university)? He is a nice guy but they are all so cruel. Maybe, he has changed but why are they all still the same? Also, who is the older, local guy they invited to join their reunion/birthday party? The whole story takes place from Pete's POV and there is A LOT of commentary about the British social class system- about people not fitting in. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Alec B Captures certain anxieties really well and has the guts to call out the source of those anxieties as mostly narcissism. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review Don M IAmDonMateo. I like movies. I love Horror. I hated it. However, although I didn't LOVE that i Hated it, I also didn't HATE didn't hated it either. Therefore the rating. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/24 Full Review Read all reviews
