But it’s one of the best animations by DC. Strong storytelling. All-Star Superman strips the character down to his core and gives us a poignant, emotional sendoff that captures his strength, kindness, and quiet nobility. The animation might not match Frank Quitely’s art, but the heart of Morrison’s story is intact. It’s not about punching villains (though there’s some of that); it’s about Superman confronting death and showing us why he’s still one of the greatest heroes of all time. Some of the story beats feel rushed which is hard to avoid when condensing such a layered comic but the spirit shines through. Bittersweet, hopeful, and deeply respectful of the source material.
