What to Know

Critics Consensus

Though it at times buckles under the emotional weight of its source material, All The Bright Place succeeds on the strength of Elle Fanning and Justice Smith's charming and tender performances.

And while the movie carries some of the lightweight genre appeal you would expect, “All the Bright Places” deserves credit for not just having serious intentions, but actually showing them on the screen. Go to Full Review

Although [it] won't be an easy film to watch for people who are triggered by the same issues that the movie's teen characters are coping with, the intention is to help bring awareness to these issues so that people can get and give help in real life. Go to Full Review

All the Bright Places is a film I liked, though I feel its story is far too simple for the potential it had. The acting is very good, and the performers beautifully convey the emotion and vulnerability of their characters, but at times it feels like the movie only scratches the surface of the delicate themes it tries to explore. Strangely enough, what caught my attention the most was how ugly the poster was, which distracted me more than it should have. Still, it’s a decent movie with good intentions and a positive message that might resonate with those looking for a light story about pain and hope. See more Read all reviews
