geoff r Paul Schneider probably the most under appreciated actor of his era. A young Philip S Hoffman. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review steve d Zooey Deschanel is great but the film isn't. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The film just sort of meanders for its nearly two hour runtime. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member It was natural and authentic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Crossing another David Gordon Green film off the list, this one is solid, with a small town love story about a guy dating his friend's sister while trying to shake a reputation that he may break her heart. The film was slightly puzzling to me, in that the actors seemed to be playing these character's much younger than I would have expected, with reactions you'd see in people of a much younger age, but after I got used to that it wasn't so distracting. Well worth a look and I'm happy to say that this director has yet to let me down with any of the films he's made. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member So honest and a lot of believable chemistry between Paul and Zooey!!! One of my fav movies! Rated: 2/5 Jun 6, 2003 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site Green's film reveals a certain sensitivity to human beings. If the dialogue, particularly at its most oblique and would-be poetical, occasionally strains and even makes one wince, a genuine sympathy for people is always operating here. Feb 16, 2021 Full Review John Powers L.A. Weekly Green wants to imbue his story with more significance than it can bear... Then again, you have to be pretty harsh to dwell on the whiff of pretension in an ambitious young filmmaker with as much natural talent as Green.
