I cannot, however, much as I'd like to, quite recommend this movie -- the going gets a little thick at the end, and some of the plot developments are dumb... But that isn't to say I'm scornful of the film's special qualities and its gentle good humor. Go to Full Review

There's not much plot, little suspense and a mere soupcon of character development. But what it does have is warmth and integrity galore. Go to Full Review

The humor never quite manages to stick, even though the premise is clever, the characters are watchable, and a certain awkwardness in the interactions adds a layer of mirth. Go to Full Review

josé G Dec 15 Funny funny funny nothing else See more Matt B 12/29/2023 Very well done. The whole cast did an excellent job, especially Elias and Paul Hogan. Doreen was perfect and Linda kills it too. Great movie. So great I've watched more times than I can count/remember. See more 07/10/2020 I love this movie. It's not Paul Hogan's best movie but he does a good job. See more 09/26/2019 This was definitely a feel-good classic movie. Paul Hogan plays nearly as engaging a Character as Dundee, but with a more endearing twist. The Twist Ending, unless you are super Jaded, really WAS a nice, if slightly predictable twist. Most of the bad reviews come from people who are offended by anything that implies that belief in God is anything but stupid. Some people live to hate. feel free to ignore their nasty snark and enjoy this family movie for what it is, a feel-good light comedy that will have you smiling through your tears. See more 09/19/2019 Watching this in 2019, I was honestly surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. Funny, touching, and a really nice story of redemption. There was a sweet air to it that reminded me of Highway to Heaven I was shocked at how bad this movie did on Rotten Tomatoes. See more 12/02/2018 Underrated sweet movie See more Read all reviews
