Jack . This film has reignited my love of Christmas and dogs (both of which were previously ruined when as a child I was bitten by a man dressed as Santa who had lost his mind and was running around on all fours barking Christmas caroles/songs with dog puns like "Fleas Navidad", "Have yourself a Yappy little Christmas", "Bark the herald angels sing", and "All I want for Christmas is chew"). Sorry for trauma dumping but in conclusion this was a great film, 5 stars! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Charlie P Paw-sitively delightful take on the classic Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Lloyd M This film brought me to tears - tears of joy. I have watched this film precisely 12 times - 1044 minutes of my life well. I am looking forward to viewing number 13. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Jerome J Best animal CGI of all time. While I may disagree with Kevin Sorbo's politics, gosh darn it the man can act! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/02/24 Full Review Callum K A true masterpiece of postmodernist absurdist comedy. From the moment the film starts one is dragged along on a rollercoaster ride of fun and laughter. Our brave hero Bone (a dog) is cruelly blamed for his brother Columbus's (another dog) misdeeds and is left at the kennels instead of travelling with the family for Christmas. However Bone has spotted some fishy (quite literally) characters casing his house and he breaks free to return there and defend his home with all the aplomb and casual violence of a young Kevin McAllister. A true treasure and not to be missed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/02/24 Full Review Jesse A "Bones Alone" is an abysmal film that had me questioning my life choices for the entire runtime. I went in hoping for a lighthearted family movie, but what I got was a chaotic, poorly executed mess that failed to deliver on every front. First off, the plot is a nonsensical jumble. A dog left home alone sounds like a fun premise, but instead, it devolves into a series of ridiculous and contrived scenarios that lack any coherence. The pacing is all over the place, and I found myself utterly confused about what was happening or why I should care. The characters are flat and unlikable. The dog, who should be the star, has no personality whatsoever—just a bunch of tired clichés rolled into one. The human characters are equally forgettable, providing little more than annoying distractions. Their motivations are flimsy at best, making it hard to invest in their storylines. The humor is painfully stale. What could have been a charming comedic romp instead feels like a relentless barrage of failed gags and slapstick that misses the mark completely. I found myself cringing more often than laughing, wishing for the film to just end. Visually, the movie is uninspiring. The cinematography is bland, and the special effects look cheap, making the whole production feel like a half-hearted attempt at entertainment. To top it all off, the film lacks any real heart or message. Instead of feeling uplifted or entertained, I left feeling frustrated and annoyed. "Bones Alone" is a waste of time and a disservice to the family genre. Skip this one—your time and sanity are far too valuable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/30/24 Full Review Read all reviews
