Audience Member Really good one here Walter Brennan at his best thank you Holly enjoy this week James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas September 22, 2023 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/22/23 Full Review deke p 1951 ! VIRGINIA MAYO Hot! WALTER BRENNAN as a TUFF BAD GUY, as we've rarely ever seenim before! John AGAR as the lawman. KIRK (the Dimple) DOUGLAS in his first western. Interesting suspense as the Sheriff tries single handedly to return some bad guys across the desert to their just deserts. Spoiler alerts:first, apparently the GREAT DIVIDE is the desert, not a mountain range. Second: be prepared for the ending. Seen it on GRIT TV twice in 2021. Note to self, next time pay closer attention to the first 2/3rds. NOTE TO RT STAFF! I could not find this movie on RT by looking it up by name. Had to look up WALTER BRENNAN to find it and clicked it then was able to find and comment. C'mon RT, make it easier, and show some respect for the oldies. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member If you're a Western movie fan this is a must-see classic released in 1951 at the end of the B&W film era. As a legendary Hollywood director, Raoul Walsh was at the height of his creative powers when making this film. Kurt Douglas in his first Western, brings a white-hot intensity to the lead role that contrasts the dark and dramatic directing style of Walsh. Add an all-star supporting cast and production team and you have one of the finest examples of a B&W Western from this transitional era. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow and brooding western with a climax as expected, but the storyline is good, as is the acting which has presence. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member a good western movie nice horses to.
