Joshua Rothkopf Time Out [Eliza Dushku's] commitment to the material is worthier than the cheesy ghost effects of decomposing children that the filmmakers felt the need to add. Rated: 3/6 Dec 10, 2008 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times It's too bad there was no way around the story's inherent deficit since this effectively unsettling film, directed by Rob Schmidt, chugs along quite well for a while. Rated: 2/5 Nov 14, 2008 Full Review Luke Y. Thompson Village Voice The Alphabet Killer may well make enough money to justify a Part II. Rated: 1/5 Apr 10, 2009 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru The Alphabet Killer suffers from the same symptoms as Passengers: both have an unintentionally feeble-minded character who lazily investigates a mystery while the plot itself seems dull and poorly developed. Rated: 4.5/10 Jan 31, 2009 Full Review Rossiter Drake San Francisco Examiner Although Schmidt and Malloy have devoted meticulous attention to Megan's manhunt, which is engrossing and briskly paced for the better part of 85 minutes, their final act seems less like a canny trick than a copout. Rated: 2/4 Jan 13, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews

Jason W Decent serial killer crime drama. Doesn't reinvent the wheel, but if you're looking for a something in that realm, it does feature an ensemble of pretty great actors. In my opinion, the choice to use the phantom children took it down a notch as it wasn't pivotal to the story besides making an attempt at jump scares and trying to move the film into the paranormal genre. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/27/24 Full Review Audience Member It was okay until Dushku tried to act obsessed and it just look really fake. As someone who has gone thru a breakdown, I know more about what that looked like. It was poor writing, I believe. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Apparently most others who reviewed this film, fail to realize that a standard viewer doesn't read as many books and watch as many movies as we do (assuming they do anyway.... I could be wrong here). This film was very exciting and interesting. Just because we realized Hutton's character was the suspect before the credits rolled didn't make it a flop. Give credit where it's due and stop being so full of yourselves. Worth the watch.... check it out. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member A great story ideas, but it needed another draft or two. Too many loose ends. Dushku overacted and there was not a great amount of screen presence in the actors. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member It feels like it couldn't decide rather to be a supernatural ghost story or a true crime drama thriller and in the process ends up failing at both. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review matt h A smidge of overacting and story wasnt all that great. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
