David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk There were some well animated fight scenes, but there was also some poor writing and characterisation, as well as plenty of "janky" animation in between the good bits. Rated: 3/5 Jun 11, 2020 Full Review Courtney Lanning Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Resleeved is a solid watch for fans of the live-action series. It expands the universe a little bit in some pleasant ways. Apr 3, 2020 Full Review Paul Tassi Forbes Perhaps the weirdest part about Altered Carbon Resleeved is its non-traditional, three-dimensional animation style that make it look like a video game you cannot interact with. Its action soars, but its story and writing fall flat. Mar 27, 2020 Full Review John Serba Decider Altered Carbon: Resleeved won't knock anyone's socks off, but it effectively pleases newcomers and hardcores alike. Mar 20, 2020 Full Review David Griffin IGN Movies Altered Carbon: Resleeved is a diverting entry in the Takeshi Kovacs saga that excels in the action department while neglecting to fully develop its main characters in a way that makes a lasting impact. EC T I love the Altered Carbon universe but this show missed the landing. The story was somewhat interesting but there were too many missing pieces that didn't make everything fit together. You felt like the show was onto something but for some reason it didn't fit together really well so it made for a disjointed story. I like the setting so I wouldn't say it is horrible but it definitely isn't a show that will be cracking any top 10 lists. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review Audience Member I am three episodes in, and, while I've never seen a porn parody with such high production values, there is a lot of expository dialogue. A. lot. First rule of porn parody. Show. Don't tell. Actually, that is second rule. First rule- supposed to have been titled "This Ain't Altered Carbon." Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing show killed too soon Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review r l Graphically breathtaking. It does not break any of the codes of the genre, but it is visually stunning. If you are into cyberpunk, look no further. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Clever theme, wonderful scenography and appropriate acting. Love both seasons. KEEP EM COMMING - All hail to the stack Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member SPOILERS. When Kovacs was talking with Hideki who had hired him, Hideki said that the time they were in was post death of his sister and falconer quellcrist. So kind of odd then for the CTAC lady to suddenly think she was Kovacs sister. Also Kovacs and his sister were on killing each other non speaking terms when they last left, so kind of way out of place the whole weird thing here. The only thing that would make sense is if this is a old copy of her resleeved at a later point like Season 2 where they have a prior kovacs with no experiences beyond a set point, but as someone else stated at what point in kaileens life would she think it cool to be with ctac. none. Theres no good excuse that would make sense of this flick. another review i read suggested that by death of keileen and death of quellcrist they were talking about their first death prior to season 1 not their real or second deaths at end of season 1 and season 2 respectively. That would make more sense but still it doesn't make enough sense to fit in the reality. It was just done for the sake of this flick and this whole flick was garbled together with no thought. They took random story and plugged it into this universe plugged two recognizable names in randomly and called it altered carbon. expect us to watch it. best thing u can do is not watch it; or watch it then forget it. same as matrix 2 and 3. Also kovacs has issues. He is played here as a straight up low intelligence brute. especially an unaware no knowledge brute. meaning dumb as a rock having no braincells or learning or experiences or pretty much anything in his brain between his ears. He even says things like i dont know anything about honor. Its just unwatchable because it has nothing to do with the kovacs from outside this flick or the kaileen from outside this flick. Also the story makes no sense. holly is being attempted killed by shinji, reason cause she will tattoo him with a poison that will later kill him if/when he is succeeded, which its hard to tell to what degree he is or is not cool with that. If he is trying to kill her so he can succeed without being tattooed then how would that work, why would the current leader go through with the death, and why would the underlings go through with him leading them without the succession process. Also the whole tech ninja thing is not fun concept. he just magically has some underlings that can essentially kill everyone in the place with really just one guy. the only reason he even needs more than one is that kovacs and gena keep killing them all. but without kovacs and gena one of the ninjas can just cleanse the whole yakuza organization with no effort. that makes little sense and is not even fun to watch because where do u get any sense of suspense when everyone is so easy to kill and the ninjas dont even have to try. what kind of organization is this yakuza that none of them at all can defend themselves against these guys. shows often will create unkillable henchmen just out of nowhere who are loyal to the guy who gets them from nowhere with no effort for no cost and then they have no idea of their power or worth and no goals for if they are so powerful why do they need to do the bidding of this guy why not just go take over a planet or galaxy or whatnot. its just mindnumbing when u watch supervillians that are superloyal that are created out of thin air and they are completely free and loyal and have no goals or purpose other than to be ur faithful slave. its stupid. oh well. Fun to watch. if ur into watching stuff just for the sake of watching stuff. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
