Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Very funny, sweet and sharp. Jul 13, 2024 Full Review Peter Travers ABC News Dakota Johnson is aces as a late bloomer coming out in her 30s. The touchingly personal script by Lauren Pomerantz is funny as hell, but it’s her delicacy of feeling that sneaks up and floors you. Something special is going on here. Treasure it. Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) For not the first time in her career, Dakota Johnson makes amends for a particularly dismal blockbuster (50 Shades of Grey and now Madame Web) with an emotionally complex performance in an independent feature. Jun 6, 2024 Full Review Erik Childress Movie Madness Podcast A charming and often very funny comedy about the changes to both friendship and self with another nice turn from Dakota Johnson Rated: 3/4 Nov 21, 2024 Full Review Ally Ham The Review Geek While the film generally doesn’t dig too far beyond the surface of these themes, you can feel complex thoughts and feelings radiating off Dakota Johnson, who gives a vulnerable and moving performance. Oct 8, 2024 Full Review Emma Vine Loud and Clear Reviews The film is an uplifting, heartfelt watch with noteworthy performances, well-established characters, and relatable subject matter. Alex v Dakota Johnson is so adorable in this film. It seems like the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson does not age or went „Back to the Future.“ The film is moving at a gentle speed taking advantage of some great locations the city of Angels has to offer. (Who didn’t catch Alexander von Roon‘s „Stairs of Santa Monica“ - spoiler alert). The dialogue is witty and Sean Hayes adds some comic relief. Sonoya Mizuno is convincing and fin to watch. Great fun for inflight entertainment and we hope to see more from Teatime Projects or Pictures or even develop some deep intellectually challenging lasting projects for them. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/05/24 Full Review L S So this is the third movie I couldn't get through more than 5 minutes because of Dakota Johnson. She is so incredibly boring and monotone. I just don't feel like she understands that acting actually requires feeling something. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/31/24 Full Review Luanne A Surprised to see such a high rating on this site. The story lacks a development arc. Out of nowhere, the protagonist decides to shake up her life, but nothing significant happens to prompt her change. The character's arc is weak, although the theme is initially interesting, it was poorly developed. Dakota's performance is charismatic. Jane and Danny don't convince as a couple at all, and their breakup is another thing that comes out of nowhere in the story. The jokes are silly, superficial. A completely banal film that could have been better with a stronger script. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/24/24 Full Review Crystal M I thought the movie was amazing, it delicates so many relatable emotions and life experiences and easily one of my favourite movies of this year. Dakota was amazing in the movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/14/24 Full Review Doiserski d It's a movie about lost souls who struggle to find their true meaning in life even though they kinda know what they are into but afraid to step out of their comfort zone. If that's not you don't watch it and hate it Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/28/24 Full Review Jesica E Had high hopes based on the cast but it sucked. Monotone.
