alexander Interesting script and dialogue. Main character actresses was wonderful and charming in the weird awkward way. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review Brett H This movie was borderline unwatchable. I love all things Italy. The language, the people, the culture, but this was a tough watch. The entire film was lacking a story arc, there wasn't a single interesting or relatable character, or a single memorable moment. It's described as a dark comedy, but there was no comedy to be found. Ti prego di non guardare questo film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/24/24 Full Review StephenPaul C The greatest 01 hour: and 34 minutes ever, motherf**king sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maxwell Rabb Chicago Reader For her debut feature, Cavalli’s character study of a sardonic protagonist offers a unique voice to coming-of-age anxiety. Aug 11, 2023 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Amanda never lets its guard down or soft-pedals its protagonist’s preoccupation with herself, even as it slyly lampoons the culture and society that not only creates but enables rich characters. Rated: 3/4 Aug 2, 2023 Full Review Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I got very impatient with this film, but the one thing that holds your attention is Benedetta Porcaroli. She's astounding, and she makes you like it better than you should. Jul 21, 2023 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) An idiosyncratic deadpan failure to launch comedy. . . made me laugh harder than anything I have seen the whole year. Feb 13, 2024 Full Review Michael J. Casey Michael J. Cinema "Amanda" does a lot of things well but without feeling remarkable. Rated: 3/5 Sep 6, 2023 Full Review Nicholas Bell Fish Jelly Films (YouTube) An assured debut.
