John W Excellent movie for Chrstmas. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review isla s This is a good family friendly film from the 70s. The plot is quite good with different sub plots and a twist present. Its a bit cheesy but that's to be expected. I liked the variety of characters present and it did make me think, a bit. I would recommend this if your interested in ghost stories and perhaps time travel. It made me think of the film 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' at times. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member chock full of cinematic technical errors. The carriage driver in the wedding scene forgot to release the parking brake and the wheel is completely locked as it rounds the bend. The wedding guests had to dodge piles of horse dung. Apparently it would have cost a lot of money to re-shoot the scene so the editors left it in. The scene where (ghost) James is trying to get the cellar keys from Mrs. Wiggins the black thread used to create the ghost effect is clearly visible. And the fire scene - - the house begins to disintegrate only moments after the fire starts. LOL Aside from the those blunders the movie was ok. A mostly predictable ghost story, but suitable for younger children - - no gushing blood, or jump scares. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a good, family friendly ghost story. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member It is excelent, Gorgeous, Beautiful. Unforgettable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member When I was a young girl my sister took myself, my sister and brother to watch this film and I have loved the memory of it ever since. Myself and my children have movie nights every Saturday and finally I was fed up with all the new film so I sugested watching The Amazing Mr Blunden. My children weren't sold on the idea and watched reluctantly. For the first 20 minutes they chatted away asking questions and laughing with each other. However, by the end of the film there was total silence as they were drawn into the thrill and excitement that I felt when I was younger watching this film. They asked questions of which I simply said watch and see for yourself. For the next week all the spoke about was the film and I was totally happy that I could share one of the greatest moments of my life with them. I summise by saying do not judge. If you do not like something then keep it to yourself because there are some of us who will always love and cherish the memories of that same film and how we felt when we watched it and how we feel when we remember the moment we first got to see it. Mr NaiSmith was such a wonderful actor and he drew you into the film. You could feel the fear and love that kept brother and sister together and their desire for somebody to save them, whic happened in the end. Wonderful film Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
