Critics Consensus

American Chaos offers an engaging look at the seemingly growing political divide in the United States, albeit one limited by timing and an occasionally disorganized approach.

Would you like to be punched in the face for 90 minutes? Then do I have the film for you! Go to Full Review

[Stern's] goal with the film is not to argue or to condescend but to listen. Go to Full Review

Who was Stern's target audience? Surely Democrats don't want to spend 90 minutes relitigating the election any more than Republicans yearn to squander so much as a cent of their entertainment dollar watching liberals whine. Go to Full Review
Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review 06/23/2020
American Chaos in its current context is more of a curiosity or footnote than anything actionable, which is a shame because I believe that an emotional appeal has a great deal of value in moving people and changing their minds. Go to Full Review

Geke g 07/28/2024 I wish I had seen this more earlier See more 10/08/2019 fascinating view. what was the most compelling is the authors desire to understand and ask questions (attempting) to exclude his own bias. I need to learn that. See more 05/22/2019 I was very conflicted about this movie. I appreciate that the filmmaker was willing to listen to opposing views to his own, but felt he had a standpoint that even after listening to valid arguments he must've not been listening at all. It felt to me he was a one issue (climate change) voter and the fact that his brother tackled the issue for the Obama administration skewed his views. See more 05/17/2019 Like a trip to the dentist. Painful (to watch) but necessary. See more 10/28/2018 If Republicans haven’t gotten enough whining from those idiot liberal demorats this movie is for you; if you are sick of listening to those sore-loser morons crying because they don’t know how to lose gracefully when their plan to take even more government sponsored control failed then don’t bother. The saddest thing about all of it is that the demorats don’t even realize they are the true disgrace to this country. See more 10/07/2018 You may get an impression that it is not as much about Trupm's voters, but about the director himself. See more Read all reviews
