Audience Member Many lessons to be garnered from this film. I made me realize that the radicalization doesn't exist in a vacuum but requires a certain receptivity & self radicalization to really take hold & produce a real sacrificial terrorist jihadist. Nick Schager The Daily Beast It's a fascinating investigation into the burgeoning threat our (and all Western) nations face from radical Islamic belief. Apr 4, 2017 Full Review Lorraine Ali Los Angeles Times [It] goes beyond the hysteria and fear to offer a smart, measured and methodical look at how these men were indoctrinated into terror organizations such as the Islamic State, Al Qaeda and Shabab. Mar 27, 2017 Full Review Neil Genzlinger New York Times The film would be better if it teased out its ideas about personal interventions and how mainstream Muslims might be brought into such an approach, but it's still full of food for thought served at just the right moment. Mar 24, 2017 Full Review Mark A. Perigard Boston Herald Showtime's American Jihad drops you down a dark rabbit hole as it explores the lives of several homegrown terrorists, including the Tsarnaev brothers, responsible for the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.
