Sean T. Collins Decider This is a can’t miss if you’re a Cody fan, for sure. But [if] you’re a wrestling fan, it raises more questions than it answers, and those answers are the stuff of a truly great documentary still waiting to be made. Aug 1, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Ryan F Wow!!! I don't usually do documentaries but that was really good Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Dan R The WWE does some of their best work with their historical documentaries and 'American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes' is a real big budget offering which has just hit cinemas. SYNOPSIS: 'A behind-the-scenes look at the story of Cody Rhodes, featuring 15 years of never-before-seen footage, as he strives to make a name for himself.' The subject matter clearly makes this documentary more for those who are fans of WWE, or professional wrestling as a whole, but this is a really great story. Almost fairytale. Cody Rhodes himself really wears his heart in his sleeve and he reveals so much about himself, his father and the world as a whole here. His story needed this to pull on the heart strings of the audience and to make us actually care about this man. This is everything I wanted and even leaves a few carrots to leave you guessing right up to the end of the show. It's also very emotional, almost visceral in places, and that's a connection I wasn't expecting from this film. I also still got goosebumps from Cody's return at Wrestlemania 38 which was shown here. A fascinating watch. 9/10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/05/23 Full Review Marcus H A Dream of a documentary. For Cody to discuss the AEW experience was a welcome surprise. And for him to give the audience how he felt through his different experiences was good to see. Too bad his best friend…The Free Agent of 2024 was not in this. A work or a shoot, at the end of the credit scenes the WWE did not give special thanks to AEW…only time will tell for the next chapter. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/01/23 Full Review Dizzy B Eazy to watch. Informational. Really shows the real life side of superstars. Cody did an excellent job! Next time he challenges for the title I'm watching and if I can afford it I'm going! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Good D What a documentary! Spotlights everything about his career perfectly! Must watch for all pro wrestling fans. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Richard W Great documentary and very inspirational.
