AMERICONNED is a film about income inequality in the US and the tragic destabilizing effects to Americans. Radical inequality has led to radicalization at every level of society, and this powerful documentary depicts what happens when America hits its tipping point by looking back through our history at similar critical moments of instability. The labor movement of the past was born in times like these. We must restore the path to the once great middle class that now suffers in silence. Despite an increase in productivity in recent decades, compensation for the American worker has been stagnant. In addition, 47% of American jobs are at high risk of being lost to automation and A.I. by the mid-2030s. In the United States, there has been an upward redistribution of over $50 trillion from the bottom 90% to the top 1% over the last 40 years. Politicians on both sides of the aisle have created a protection racket for the rich, and corporations are deliberately crushing unions. In this David vs. Goliath story, Chris Smalls and Derrick Palmer lead a movement to unionize Amazon workers for the first time, after the corporation fired Smalls for speaking up for workers' rights. They are inspiring legions of workers to, as the late, great Congressman John Lewis said, get into "good trouble."

Lisa L This is a movie every American should see. Heart wrenching, moving, informative and in the end, hopeful. We have been conned. And it doesn't have to be this way. We can and do have the collective power of the people to change it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Ken G Documentary meets Horror. Truly amazing. Must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/21/23 Full Review Olivia B Informative, moving, and a good reminder that the American middle and the American mind has been dragged too far right and is need of a recalibration. It captures this moment in the US with hindsight and foresight. It's a call to action and does its job very well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review Trina C Finally the truth about how the middle class is quickly becoming non existent. My heart goes out to the family's featured in this film. Knowledge is power, this a must see film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/23 Full Review Bryce W This film is must watch. An absolute masterpiece. Beyond being a great watch, it is a call to action for the labor movement and the working class. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/23 Full Review Diana W This movie does an excellent job of showing how the middle class is being intentionally crushed by the economic policies pushed by the wealthy while making the working poor blame themselves for their circumstances. Thankfully it also shows that there is hope for turning things around, and that hope is the power of the people banding together to fight for a union contract. Definite must-see!
