Variety Staff Variety There is hardly anything original about the picture. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Time Out To pad things out characters argue over story-lines from previous Amityville movies, while for 3-D purposes, wasps, furniture and minor players are hurled in our direction at varying intervals. Rated: 1/4 Apr 4, 2005 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...fondly remembered by genre fans, well put together and reasonably sturdy for a third instalment, even if it’s just a retread with the edge removed in favour of wide-eyed, almost child-like willingness to believe in absurd supernatural situations... Rated: 3/5 Sep 16, 2024 Full Review Joe Lipsett Bloody Disgusting While Tony Roberts' Baxter is a bore, there is enough odd and unusual material here to merit a look. If only the film had embraced the madcap ridiculousness of the climax throughout its runtime and wasn’t encumbered by such a dud protagonist! thiago s Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas de terror são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Justin T This is pretty bad, especially compared to the previous two films. Even the novelty of the 3D can’t save this. The film is dull and stereotypical. It has unengaging characters, except Meg Ryan who is actually excellent and pretty much saves this film from total damnation. The dramatic moments lack any drama, for example their daughter’s death is just so unemotional and so unrealistic. This film sets the quality precedent for all the terrible films with Amityville in the title to come. Don’t bother watching any except the original two. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/07/25 Full Review CodyZamboni Z Back in 1983, this movie was called Amityville 3D. It's an unncessary sequel. Movie is dumb and cheap looking, Just a silly excuse to toss things at the 3D camera, That said, movie is not boring, Actors give their all, especially Candy Clark, Also nice seeing Meg Ryan and Lori Loughlin, when they were really young, Not sure why the movie poster features a chicken foot, There are no chickens in the movie, Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/07/25 Full Review James B Amityville the demon or Amityville 3D doesn't really add much to the franchise apart from it being in 3D and ruining the continuity as well as the house. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Eddy C I have the blu ray of this in 3D and I love it. Its not a great movie, but sit back and enjoy this mess :) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review jordan m This relied a bizarre amount on its special effects and the effects sucked. Seeing several pre-fame stars was worth the watch and the premise itself didn't suck (a grounded skeptic moving into the house) but it had the same issues I disliked in previous installments where they've made the ghosts virtually omnipresent as they affect people miles away from the house. There were no intelligent decisions made at any point in the movie, most comically with the paranormal researcher insisting he must confront the demon by leaning in close enough to have his face melted off. The most shocking thing of the entire movie was the absolutely beautiful musical score - it really kept the movie going and was noticeable at all the right moments.
