Claudio C Among the Living (2022) Beautiful Landscapes, but Awful Amateurish Movie and Characters (11,770 – 17 Jun 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) In the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, Harry (Dean Michael Gregory) travels with his younger sister Lily (Melissa Worsey) to the house of his father in the countryside. They avoid the dangerous roads and walk through the fields and forest, camping in a tent and searching for food in empty houses. During one night, Harry refuses to open his tent for a woman. While walking in the forest, Lily steps onto an animal trap and bleeds, attracting a zombie. Wounded, Lily stays in the tent while Harry looks for food. He is surprised by a man, Karl (George Newton), armed with a hammer and is forced to show Lily to him. Karl offers lodging to the siblings until Lily recovers her leg, and Lily befriends his foster son Tom (Leon Worsey). But Harry is not happy with the situation and betrays Karl to flee with Lily and Tom. “Among the Living” (2022) is one of the worse zombie movies ever made. The senseless plot and the characters are awful, and only the landscape is worthwhile watching. Melissa Worsey is not an actress, and her boring character is ridiculous, whining all the time. The coward Harry is hard to be understood, betraying Karl for nothing. The resistance of the British tent the siblings use to camp is impressive, resisting a zombie attack. In the end, watching “Among the Living” is a waste of time. My vote is three. They keep it near and dear, and it's devastating. The acting is first rate across the board, and the writing superb. I was kind of rolling my eyes, oh no, another zombie movie, but it's a work of art of the highest order. I'm stunned and deeply moved. Dean Michael Gregory is a great actor, and the writer/director is a genius.
