Rachel Wagner Rachel's Reviews (YouTube) Fun to see a modern character in the world of Pride and Prejudice Mar 2, 2024 Full Review Liz Kocan Decider An American In Austen is delightful precisely because it is not trying to be a faithful adaptation of Jane Austen, it’s more of a silly, funny critique of people who expect life to imitate art. Feb 20, 2024 Full Review Jerrica Tisdale Tell-Tale TV An American in Austen combines silliness and charm to create a very well-crafted romantic comedy and tribute to Austen and Pride and Prejudice. Tiffany G Review: https://wp.me/p65txm-fbN/#AnAmericanInAusten Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/24 Full Review Sarah T "An American in Austen" was absolutely awful! SPOILERS: The original story was butchered beyond recognition, and worst of all, Lizzy was unrecognizable. She acted more like Lydia than Lizzy. And Jane? Modest, self-effacing Jane, traveling to London only to confess her love to Bingley? Would never happen. The only thing this film had in common with the actual story was the characters' names. It wasn't even cute as its own story. Ethan's library proposal was, I grant you, adorable. But it all went downhill from there. The main character was neurotic and rude, and her finance was just too good to be believable. It was as if the author smashed "Austenland" and "Lost in Austen" together, but got writers' block right after the comet flew overhead. I didn't have high expectations, given the network, but…badly done, Hallmark. Badly done. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
