Kimber Myers The Playlist An Eye for Beauty feels like it was written by an alien who learned about human behavior from soap operas. Rated: D+ May 18, 2016 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times An insistently distancing if aesthetically pleasing Canadian production. Apr 22, 2016 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times The message that "An Eye for Beauty" wants to send is that gorgeous people suffer just like the rest of us. But it is so enamored of them that the message gets lost en route to the screen. Apr 14, 2016 Full Review Angelo Muredda Cinema Scope Unable to muster much in the way of tension, thanks to that napkin doodle of a plot and a pair of sublimely wooden lead performances, Arcand shoots for the moral complexity of Éric Rohmer and ends up with lesser Gabriele Muccino. Nov 14, 2017 Full Review Craig Takeuchi Georgia Straight While there are brief moments of emotional intimacy that shine, it's a film to look at more than feel. Aug 27, 2015 Full Review Dan Fainaru Screen International One thing An Eye For Beauty is not about is authentic human beings. Most of the characters seem to belong to a Teflon race and the lead more than anyone else. Aug 27, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Paul M I really don't know why this was reviewed poorly. It was one of the most engaging and fascinating views on love and mental illness that I have ever seen. A contemplative muse executed brilliantly. A must-watch in my books. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Samuel G The movie shows beautiful landscapes of Quebec and the characters are well formed. Great acting. The dialogues are very real. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review david f I wanted to watch this cause it's set in Canada and looked interesting. It's not the greatest movie but it's weird mixture of architects' lifestyles and romantic entanglements in Quebec and Toronto was entertaining. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Dull and banal with little point. A shallow and fruitless tale of infidelity. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Found it to be a bit pointless, but somewhat enjoyable. I don’t regret watching it, but I most definitely won’t watch it again. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/28/17 Full Review Audience Member A quasi-TV series, quiet but sloppy piece. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
