Christina Newland iNews.co.uk This utterly unconventional drama from French film-maker Justine Triet becomes a Rorschach test for misogyny. Rated: 5/5 Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Wenlei Ma PerthNow Anatomy of a Fall asks its audience to think about how we think about things and how we choose what we believe. It’s interested in the form of storytelling as much as it is interested in telling a story. Rated: 4/5 Jan 29, 2024 Full Review Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald It’s such a leisurely and deliberate approach it could seem like a very boring affectation. Instead, it’s mesmerising because of the diversions Triet comes up with along the way. Rated: 4/5 Jan 25, 2024 Full Review Tanzim Pardiwalla Filmfare The film doesn’t just play out a gripping trial about a murder case but also digs deep into the couple’s marriage and relationship. The film spotlights the tragedy to make for an effective viewing. Sep 20, 2024 Full Review Diana Tuova Spotlight on Film There are no gimmicks here, useless side characters or unnecessary plot deviations or devices – just pure cinematic story-telling that questions what really happened and why. Rated: 4.5/5 Aug 9, 2024 Full Review Ankit Ojha Cinema Elite Spanning 2 hours and 32 minutes, “Anatomy of a Fall” blends together some fine whodunit to enrich the legal drama subgenre of which its narrative is a significant part. Advik If you like court dramas, this is right up your alley. Although it attempts to examine more on the relationships, it delivers in a way only possible by the brilliance of Justine Triet. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/18/24 Full Review Michael H Phenomenal storyline, script, cast, acting and directing. Although it was 2 1/2 Hrs. with 70% subtitles, it moved along and held your attention from beginning to end. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Virginia L The theater was comfortable and the opportunity for having food served was unique. The movie was long and at times slow. It was certainly worth watching because it was intense and thought-provoking. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/09/24 Full Review Mark S My kind of movie and what performances by the mother and the son! Incredible writing and camerawork as well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/24 Full Review Marisa There must be something between Awesome and Meh! It was interesting & thoughtful. As much as I love the legal stuff & courtroom drama, it was kinda slow. I liked it, glad I saw it! Please check it out and make up your own mind. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/05/24 Full Review Timothy Really smart liked that it was set in an area you rarely see or hear about—the French Alps and Grenoble ( in the US anyway ). Have to pay attention and listen—a very dialogue intense film— but it also kept you guessing until the end and got a look at the French judicial system. The cast was quite good and the lead actress Sandra Huller was excellent. After seeing it it made me wonder if the title was a nod to Anatomy of a Murder (?) maybe. It was a little long but its the directors vision and not mine and it did pass the definitive test for me—I never looked at my watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Read all reviews
