Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

What to Know

Critics Consensus

It's just as uneven and loosely structured as the first Anchorman -- and while Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues may not be quite as quotable, it's nearly as funny as its predecessor.

Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk It's older, fatter but as sublimely silly as ever, with ba-da-bing! timing and a finale of celebrity cameo craziness. Rated: 4/5 Sep 6, 2017 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire In their big, expensive, hyper-marketed Christmas studio movie, they're doing the same kind of Fox-mocking that Jon Stewart does every night. Jun 18, 2016 Full Review Wesley Morris Grantland Ferrell and McKay were so determined to tell new Burgundy jokes that they didn't appear to care what they were about or whether they were any good. Jan 3, 2014 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues might not be as quotable as its predecessor but the comedy is still a solid film in how it lampoons the world of cable news. Rated: 4/5 Jan 1, 2024 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson It's either two hours of brilliance or two hours of torturous stupidity. Rated: 3/5 Aug 14, 2022 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Funny in an outrageous way. It's a bit too long but the buffoonery level is high in a season where serious drama seems to be the ticket. Rated: 3/5 Feb 1, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Kanye l I think it is a bit worse then the original. Just because it is way more wacky then the first one witch i don't really like but has got some other great elements. Like for example the cameos are really good and i think is implementet well and even thought the have to get the old team together witch does take a while it is still kinda fun to watch. One of the biggest problems with this movie however is that it is just kinda more of the same and nothing super unique. Compared to the first movie where it is a new cool idea and don't suffer from things getting to stale. But what really holds this movie together is the cast and all the characters witch are all still amazing. There were a few new characters that weren't bad but not on the same level as the first movie. Another problem with this movie is that it was release in a different time and not directly after the first one witch makes the comedy feel a bit like parody of it former self even thought it is funny formela. They also just took the best jokes from the first one and only the best ones witch makes the movie less unique. It sounds like i think this is a bad movie witch i don't i just think it is to wacky but still great. I would recommend you to see it if you have seen the first one and really liked it or if your just in to more of a wacky crazy comedy movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/10/24 Full Review TROY S A hilariously silly and ridiculously absurd comedy eruption that was worth the wait. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/27/24 Full Review Audience Member Better and funnier than the first one, which was really good. Will Ferrell is the goat. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/23/24 Full Review Nick R Not nearly as good as the first, and far too late to be relevant. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Audience Member A decent follow up, made me laugh but wasn't instantly quotable like it's predecessor Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Stacey nice movie it doesn't wasted my money Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Read all reviews
