An anonymous sperm donor made Julie Davidson (Vanessa Williams) a single mom six years ago. Now her son, Jake (Jeremy Gumbs), is having trouble in school. Fearing the cause is genetic, Julie tracks down the birth father, Paul Cooper (Kevin Daniels), an aspiring actor. Julie isn't pleased that half of her son's genes come from an underachiever. But Jake and Paul hit it off and Julie starts to feel close to Paul herself. Complicating matters is her marriage-minded boyfriend, Ted (Michael Boatman).

didn't really enjoy this, thought the acting was horrid and went overboard with the cheese....but was a great movie to fold laundry too...I could leave the room and not feel like I missed anything important

why does this have an average review of 3 stars? This cast can act as well as the cast of saved by the bell! Terribly! This movie was like reading a badly written script for a made for tv movie that should have been made for the garbage. seriously, wtf?!

Synopsis
