A zesty combination of witty interviews, zippy montages, gruesome Pythonesque animation, and a cameo by a bong-puffing, bizarrely paternal Tommy Chong, the film tries, perhaps a bit too hard, to turn the Grim Reaper into the Grin Reaper.

Beautiful rendered by dir Tony Benna, who knew the title character intimately. André's approach to his imminent death & the process of dying is inspirational, aspirational and exhilarating. A lesson in dying with absolutely no dignity. W/dir interview.

This autobiographical memorial celebrates its subject’s idiosyncrasies to a degree that may irk as well as charm some viewers. But as Sinatra once sang, there is no question: Andre Ricciardi did it his way.

I had no idea what this documentary was about but I was immediately captivated by Andre, his family and his friends. This is not your typical cancer documentary and not your typical cancer patient. See it is all I can say. And get a colonoscopy ... please.
