Jay W Dec 22 I thought it was implied in the first short that the father had passed away. But no, I guess when they said, "I miss Dad." that was because he was in Australia. The common thread between the two "Angela Christmas" shorts is that she has a childlike misunderstanding of how the world works. In the first one she thinks a lifeless doll needs a sweater to be warm. In this one she and her older brother think they can ride a train to Australia, find their dad and be back before 5:00. The kids are older and more are involved. It makes it harder to believe that no one would see the holes in this logic. It still has a sweet ending and overall has good Christmas feels. The characters, although very short-sighted, are very nice. I'm sure for kids it will be fun enough. See more Jack S. @Jakatak Nov 18 Better than first. We watched it all as a family on our Christmas vacation and everyone was enjoying watching and was moved by the simple yet heartwarming story of a family missing their dad. See more 12/14/2020 While generally inferior to its predecessor, had nothing to lose from just being a normal 24-minute special rather than the 40 minutes and likely owes its existence to the fact that the first special was a surprise hit, Angela's Christmas Wish does have really good voice acting, decent funny moments, well-placed poignant moments and a heartwarming ending. While I doubt anybody was begging for a sequel to a mostly decent special, I also doubt that the whole family won't find something to enjoy in this cute little Christmas cartoon.
