Nissim (Gabi Oterman), at age 11, finds himself inextricably drawn to his deceased brother's widow, Rosa (Michal Bat-Adam). When Nissim discovers that Jewish law requires him to care for her in his brother's absence, he makes his intentions known. Sensing the boy's grief, Rosa allows him to live with her over their families' protests.
