Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter At a time when the country has been beset by another disaster that has resulted in heroic efforts by countless individuals, the film is a valuable reminder of the goodness that can result even from tragedy. Sep 28, 2005 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Answering the Call is an emotional tribute to the thousands of regular citizens and emergency personnel who, on Sept. 11, 2001, responded to the worst disaster any of them had ever seen. Rated: 4/5 Sep 9, 2005 Full Review Mark Pfeiffer Reel Times: Reflections on Cinema (The film's) noble intentions are unquestionable, but the scattershot reporting keeps it from amounting to little more than a string of too-similar witness testimonies. Juliian T Like everyone else, I remember where I was when I found out. For days we were glued to the TV. How could this happen in America. Then we started hearing other stories that the people working at Ground Zero were getting sick from the toxic air. When I finally went to Ground Zero, I was so moved at the makeshift ground zero memorial. I knew a lot of people had helped, but I had no idea about all of this. Thank you for showing me the best side of humanity with this movie. God bless the men and women who helped during these times. I am recommending this movie for a class I have which teaches history because this part of the story needs to be told. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
