Despite both the police and the Russian mob after his head, the brilliant criminal Anthony Zimmer always avoids capture, even resorting to plastic surgery to mask his identity. However, Detective Akerman (Sami Frey) plans to break the case by tracking Zimmer's mistress, Chiara Manzoni (Sophie Marceau), to finally find his man. Chiara -- aware that no one knows Zimmer's appearance -- leads the chase directly to François Taillandier (Yvan Attal), a man in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Alberto Abuín Espinof A bad movie that brings up the bad moment of the current thrillers. [Full Review in Spanish] Feb 12, 2020 Full Review Andrew L. Urban Urban Cinefile This is writer/director Jerome Salle's thrilling debut feature, and earned a nomination as Best First Feature at the 2006 Cesar Awards Jul 25, 2008 Full Review Boyd van Hoeij european-films.net If there would be anything to complain about (apart from the rather silly ending), it would be that first-timer Salle makes the film fly by almost too fast. Gerald H So a Schaas. Und der blödeste Filmtitel ever. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/23/24 Full Review Audience Member Confused and confusing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Effective low-key thriller enhanced by short bursts of tensely gripping action. Greatly superior to the limp American remake " The Tourist ", make sure you see this one first to avoid the same anger I relived because the major surprise had already been spoiled. Even worse, that movie only survived by cheating with its characters' behavior, while "Anthony Zimmer" makes more logical sense while planting some shrewd clues. Admittedly that one features a ravishing Angelina Jolie, but an enticingly enigmatic Sophie Marceau doesn't get seated at the table by the kitchen door either. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member It's an ok film, the story is quite interesting and taking at times but somehow the film lacks a little bit of something to make it fully credible. Still it's a nice effort. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Good scenario, good actors, good suspense. The American remake is rubish, as usually. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Yvan Attal. Long time no seen. Somehow less annoying this time. Sophie Marceau, what to say? This film was the original to the Tourist's remake with A. Jolie and J.Depp. This original was way better, in many many ways. Actually a serious thriller, unlike the remake.
