Audience Member A classic Australian series... A must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Definitely a product of the 1980s, not a product of the First World War. It is an entertaining series, that does cover the entire period of the war, at a time when most Australian's only cared for Gallipoli. However it loses itself in creating cliche characters, like Paul Hogan's Pat Cleary, and in its constant British bashing. Overall an entertaining series with excellent action sequences, just as long as it isn't taken too seriously by its audience. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Great WW1 drama series. Covers a group of Australian soldiers and their adventures in Gallipoli and the Western Front during WW1. From their times as civilians until the end of the war. Gritty, yet light-hearted, it captures the spirit of the ANZACs, yet doesn't glamorize war. Very emotional too, especially towards the end. The camaraderie and general vibe remind me of Band of Brothers, just with a less watertight plot. Well worth watching as an education into the real ANZACs, their backgrounds and the sacrifices they made. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
