Stagecoach employee Tom Folliard (William Lundigan) is sent to manage the desolate Tonto Valley station, deep in Apache territory. As the tribe threatens to attack the station, Tom must deal with the sudden reappearance of his no-good brother, Trigger Bill (Lloyd Nolan), and the arrival of a coach whose passengers include painter James V.
