Some people say "the camera was to shakey" but it's because it's a found footage movie, in reality aint no one keeping their camera straight. I can tell why people hate it tho. Despite a few tense moments, the plot doesn't hold up and the slow pace makes it a tiring watch. The idea that the security outside the base is more effective than inside feels incoherent. No one can get past the outer limits, yet once inside, everything seems abandoned just to move the story forward. In the end, the promise of mystery and horror is lost in poorly executed development with no real impact. The only bad thing I can say is the storyline. I mean okay they are planning, they go there, but non of the characters tells a thing. They show some alien thing, but too much. We don't know what is going on inside the area still. See more Markela A 06/08/2024 During the first half I could tell it's a hands down waste of time watching this since it seemed like the unprofessional ambiance, the somewhat poor casting and the unnecessary dialogs in the scenes where too many to be following a great plot. However, I gave it a shot. Once the characters arrive in area 51 I had myself watching on edge. The "cheap filming" was the key to feeling like you were actually with them, therefore the unnerved and disturbing atmosphere could easily be imparted to the audience. Well, certainly, most horror film lovers wouldn't feel the tense to the same extent since neither atrocious scenes nor hideous creatures are displayed. Personally, I consider the film worth watching since it does differ a lot from most Sci-Fi movies and I am into such weird filming techniques. Is it a highly underrated masterpiece? Definitely not! I believe a higher budget would undoubtedly skyrocket the whole piece; yet, that's still missing so the potential cannot be counted into the overall rating as an asset.
