      Critics Consensus

Though The Aristocats is a mostly middling effort for Disney, it is redeemed by terrific work from its voice cast and some jazzy tunes.

Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The Aristocats is in there with the good ones. It is light and pleasant and funny, the characterization is strong, and the voices of Phil Harris and Eva Gabor are charming in their absolute rightness. Rated: 3/4 Jul 9, 2018 Full Review Stefan Kanfer TIME Magazine The animals' exuberance is so infectious and their "acting" so true to human life that by the fadeout The Aristocats does, indeed, give the audience paws for reflection. Nov 4, 2009 Full Review Dave Kehr Chicago Reader This 1970 animated feature is dull, careless, and all too typical of the Disney studio's slapdash output before the unexpected renaissance of The Rescuers. Nov 4, 2009 Full Review Carson Timar ButteredPopcorn While the animation is cute and the film creates an incredibly likable main cast of characters each with their own unique personality and presence, the narrative is incredibly basic and lacks any deeper dimension when it comes to purpose or poignance. Aug 15, 2023 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The animation is masterful and the overall design is appealing. Rated: 5/10 Aug 27, 2020 Full Review Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net I kind of feel the same way about the Aristocats as I felt about Fun, Fancy and Free. Both felt very lazy and derivative of better films. Rated: D- May 8, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

nintendo s From the old Disney classics this was one of the less movies. The characters are not really special and so is the story. But for kids it's a very fun film with great comedy and good animation. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/22/24 Full Review Leaburn O Really enjoyed this old Disney film. The old ones just were more magical and better for kids. Watched it on DVD. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review Platty the Perrypus W That Siamese cat playing the piano didn't really age well, did it? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review João S Filme que consegue divertir e te deixar entretido, o único problema é profundidade nos personagens Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review Nerf One of my favorites as a kid. The hand-drawn animation and diverse characters make it a fun watch. There are some racial caricatures, which may be offensive yet ultimately show how far we've come as a society. The soundtrack of this movie is exciting and memorable (I know these songs better than the Jungle Book tbh). My biggest complaint, though, is the pacing. There seems to be a lot of fillers to this movie that can make it feel slow at times. Other than that, it's definitely worth a watch.
