Namrata Joshi The Hindu Arjun Patiala feels like a Punjabi film masquerading as a Bollywood one. The humour is deliberately rough and rustic and the filmmaking clunky. Jul 26, 2019 Full Review Udita Jhunjhunwala Firstpost Varun Sharma repeats his buffoon act and Kriti Sanon reprises her pretty small-town girl role. Both deliver been-there-seen-that performances. Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 26, 2019 Full Review Rahul Desai Film Companion A feature-length comedy that somehow manages to embody all the lazy stereotypes it makes fun of... Jul 26, 2019 Full Review Devesh Sharma Filmfare More was expected from the film but it just doesn't aim high enough. To cut a long story short, the ingredients are all there but the execution isn't up to mark. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 26, 2019 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV The film is way too aimless a ride to give an audience looking for genuine humour the feeling that its purpose is in with a real chance of being served. Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 26, 2019 Full Review Ronak Kotecha The Times of India Spoof comedies can be a tricky affair and this one is way too underwhelming to tickle your funny bone for full two hours. Audience Member Initially, I only watched this movie because it was streaming and I had a long flight. I was pleasantly surprised at the beginning though. It's hardly intellectual cinema, but it was good harmless fun and everyone involved was charming enough. I really liked the tongue-in-cheek asides poking fun at our Bollywood essential ingredients while shamelessly celebrating them. The second half though, once people start dropping dead, can't say it's very funny anymore. All charm squandered, much fast-forwarding. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
