An irritating, unnecessary remake that demonstrates the libertine charm Russell Brand exudes in supporting roles turn against him when he's star of the show.

Ross M For a film consisting entirely of one joke and asking the audience to relate to the 'issues' of being superrich, the emotional aspect was redemptive and the slow revelation was about as vindicating of the film's premise as could be expected. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/22 Full Review Audience Member Predictable mindless fun 2.8 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/22 Full Review Audience Member A remake we didn't need. Brand remaking Moore is the like the frat guy playing "Wonderwall" at the bonfire and it doesn't help he only had one speed from 2008 to 2012. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I love the interplay of dialog between the characters. I had to watch it several times to catch the wit. The chemistry between Arthur and Hobson is loving and whiplash; I completely disagree with Tomato's take on Russel Brand's charming delivery...he was fun to watch and lovable. I now have a crush on him. The sobriety is real...only wish we saw more of that Arthur. Naomi and Arthur were perfect...she played it to middle class inspiration. Of course, the rest of the seasoned power cast were fun to watch. Love Jennifer as a villan. It is a light, fun, quick exchange of dialog and fun pun. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Its seriously a crime how low the ratings are on this gem. Critics always hate a remake regardless. this movie has me rolling with laughter everytime, and I fall in love with the character development even more everytime. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant. I loved it, very humane picture and very different indeed. Makes the original looks like an american farse. Love is the power supreme. Great acting and what a great story. Very rich and the direction makes those great scenes stand out. I have already seen it 10 times!!!! Deborah Ross The Spectator Whereas [Dudley] Moore somehow managed to make his Arthur endearing and lovable, Brand's Arthur is puerile, infantile and hateful.
