Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Article 15 may have an unsatisfactory element or two, but as a film, it rushes in to tread forgotten grounds. It is what is needed, call it what you will-- a clarion call, a bugle, a shout-out. Rated: 3/5 Jul 1, 2019 Full Review Namrata Joshi The Hindu A compelling film on the journey of its lead Ayan, but it's one of the smaller characters, Nishad, whose tale now needs to be told urgently as an accompanying piece. Jul 1, 2019 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) The anger that propels the picture towards violence is authentic and the official corruption and collusion depicted are all too real. Rated: 3/5 Jun 30, 2019 Full Review Sukanya Verma Rediff.com It's well-made, well-acted and unflinching voice doesn't just mean to bring forth a dark reality but spark off a conversation, something Article 15 duly did by opening itself to both sides of debate. Aug 27, 2024 Full Review Rohan Naahar The Indian Express A grim thriller that tackles themes such as sexual violence and social injustice, Article 15 bravely challenges the very foundations upon which Indian society was built. Jun 30, 2024 Full Review Alix Turner Filmotomy Impressive film as both social commentary and thriller, with outstanding cinematography. Rated: 4/5 Feb 4, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Sharang L One of those rare flicks that entertains even as it talks about some difficult issues. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/06/24 Full Review amaresh k We need more movies like this Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/23/23 Full Review Luis M. D Not precisely a murder mystery since we know early on who and why committed the crimes. It's more an exposition of rural India's social problems seen from the eyes of a good and educated cop. On the one hand, there's the infamous caste system that apparently still exists —at least, according to the film's narrative — in rural India. On the other hand, the criminal networks—how they operate and how they infiltrate and corrupt the law enforcement agencies. It's meant to teach us a reality lesson. But unfortunately it is not as edgy as a thriller —it lacks suspense. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A taut film but Isha Talwar's intellectual egoism irritates. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review sergio m WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILER Article 15 is a 2019 pretty interesting Indian film. It is in common use to define Bollywood movies as cringe and chaotic, however, driven by the desire to expand my culture I decided to watch it. (Of course in original language due to the lack of English and Italian, luckily there were English subs). In the complex the direction is pretty good, I appreciated the idea of showing the huge fields of India and the lack of light during the dialogues to make them darker. About the dialogues, they're well written but could be better. I would have expected some scenes with traditional Indian dances, scenes that Bollywood has given us over the years without restraint. The fact that this film has disappointed my expectation only makes me happier. Conclusions: the film is good and is a good way to pass the time, the story is fascinating, well shot scenes and fairly well written dialogues. There aren't action scenes, the entire movie is built around the interactions between the characters. I suggest to pay attention to the dialogues, you could end up learning interesting things about Indian culture. Honour mention to the soundtrack. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/23/22 Full Review william d Article 15 refers to that part of the Indian constitution that outlaws discrimination on the basis of caste. The title is sardonic since the movie shows the caste system to be alive and well. I'm pretty ignorant of Indian society and politics so I found those aspects of the film a little hard to follow, and things get a little preachy at the end.
