Jo (Laura Heisler) is having a bad year. She has major writer's block, a rather dire caffeine addiction and is deeply mourning the untimely death of her beautiful wife. To top it all off, her biological alarm clock is ringing off the wall. In an attempt to address the latter issue, Jo asks her late-partner's brother Jamie (Bryan Dechart) to be her sperm donor.

John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter Very obviously the product of personal experience, the picture shares some of its protagonist's awkwardness and unsure footing. Jun 9, 2017 Full Review Sheri Linden Los Angeles Times Heisler brings the required neediness to the role, but the key problem with this sometimes whip-smart, sometimes mushy feature is that Jo and her story are far less interesting than some of the people around her. Jun 8, 2017 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com As Good As You is a quietly poignant film. Rated: 3.0/4.0 Sep 2, 2020 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International This tale of a lesbian's frantic search for love of any kind is very stale stuff, and made worse by one of those from-indie-hell, bad singer-songwriter music soundtracks.
