Altamente spettacolare ed esotico nelle location per il pubblico occidentale. Sceneggiatura piuttosto originale e piena di colpi di scena e di ribaltamenti di fronte, con diversi personaggi che entrano in gioco durante lo sviluppo. La CGI non è irreprensibile ma tutto sommato è sopportabile e riesce a non essere troppo invadente, ad eccezione forse dell'incipit. I personaggi invece non sono particolarmente interessanti, seppure per una volta in questo genere di film non vengono creati dei super soldati ma una truppa piuttosto inesperta (novità più interessante). Finale molto scontato purtroppo; la brutta copia di "Armageddon".

Minha opinião: Um filme coreano, com seus exageros coreanos, que sempre colocam seu fermento do exagero. Aqui Temos Ma Dong-Seok e Suzy (Bae Su-ji) seus papeis aqui são de coadvante, sendo Suzy a esposa de Há Jung-woo que o principal e Lee Byung-hun mais conhecido no papel Storm Shadow dos G.I Joe o ninja negro. Aqui ele faz o papel agente duplo. Toda estoria começa com um vulcão entre as Coreias que entra em erupção, e que ela pode destruir as duas Coreias e tem apenas algumas horas para que se faça algo para salvar. Quem descobre é o geólogo Ma Dong e a solução encotrada é colocar ogivas nuclearas no vulcão para conter a erupção. E as ogivas estão na Coreia do Norte e quem sabe a localização é Lee. E a missão é de Jung que um agente anti-bombas, mas com a morte dos soldados ele assume a missão. Entre suas partes cômicas e engraçadas, que tem vez que não cola. E para piorar além de soldados norte coreanos, aparece mariners americano e mafiosos chineses, todos atrás das ogivas. E com todo estes desafio Jung que não é um soldado tem que enfretar tudo isso para salvar sua esposa gravida. Filme que tem um pouco de tudo, tiros, explosões, tensão, comédia e drama. Acho que a salda ficou muito misturada neste filme, acredito menos seria mais aqui. Roteiro e enredo colocaram muita coisa e talvez isso comprometeu em uma melhor performance. Efeitos exagerados e exagero no todo, com coincidências forçadas. Vale apena assistir? Sim, se não tiver outra alternativa. Nota: 6

¡Que increíble película! No sé porqué no les gusto a algunas personas, yo la recomiendo al 100%. Da sus giros en la historia que te asombran, tienes un gran desastre natural que no para, discusión geo-politico militar con guerra y su toque de comedia. Es como si Una Falla de San Andrés, 2012 y un toque de Call of Duty se unieran. Lo que conlleva emocional y gráficamente no se queda atrás, todo espectacular.

A sorry excuse for a disaster movie and a poor attempt at mimicing Hollywood. It seems to tick all the standard boxes with visual effects, plot, acting, etc. Yet it is also somehow utterly ridiculous because it somehow strongly reminds a comedy made by Jackie Chan. The special forces group and its leader look like a bunch of clowns. I am sure this is how koreans see the genre, like a gameshow with goofy characters. In sum, do not waste time and money unless you want to do exacrly this.

...is very much a disaster film with a touch of extra, so the music is epic in spots and the cinematography shows the disaster loud and clear, while the effects assist everything.

Ashfall isn't terrible, though a long list of other films have done more with the same formula. Given the cast and the budget, the film really should have been better, or at least more fun, and it's hard not to be underwhelmed by the results.
