Writer-director Rachel Carey's film is effective in its depiction of a pre-Roe vs. Wade America and its horrors for women, despite its often-clumsy script and amateur production values. Go to Full Review

Ask for Jane has the look and feel of a Lifetime movie. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's certainly not an Oscar-caliber film. Go to Full Review

Ask For Jane depicts an important chapter in history and reminds us why women risked so much to help one another at a very dark and dangerous time. Go to Full Review

It's not the content that's objectionable. It's the crudely pedagogical manner in which it's presented. Go to Full Review

07/10/2019 Super relevant story for this political climate. This is the story of what it was like for women to get an abortion in the 60's. It's going to be worse than that from here on out if ordinary citizens do not step up and make sure that abortion is kept legal. I implore people to watch, spread the word and, if you haven't taken an active stand to date, do so now before it's too late. Low budget indie film, well done. See more 06/05/2019 This movie could not be more timely. The director and producers of the film did an amazing job detailing the true story of these women who banded together to ensure those who needed access to safe abortions were able to before it was made legal. The cast was absolutely fabulous and I think the ladies of the "Jane Collective" would be so proud to see their story come to the big screen in this way. This film also serves as a warning of where things are headed if we don't come together and fight back against those determined to take away our reproductive freedom! After all, what woman wouldn't want to protect her reproductive freedom and choice of WHEN, IF, or SHOULD SHE WANT TO HAVE A CHILD?! Not every woman feels the need to bare a child and that is her CHOICE... who has the right to tell her otherwise!! See more 06/04/2019 I've seen the film three times now, and each time it gets more compelling – not to mention timely. Given the efforts to roll back abortion rights and access, everyone needs to see this film! The story of the Jane Collective is beautifully written by Rachel Carey and brought to life stunningly by Cait Cortelyou and a truly remarkable cast. The producers and directors did a fabulous job of lifting up a part of our hidden history. Not only does Ask for Jane underscore how far we've come – and what's at stake in the debate about abortion rights and access. This film also reminds us of what's possible when we come together for the greater good. See more 05/19/2019 Good acting and good story. Worth seeing! See more 05/19/2019 Incredibly timely piece and powerful story See more 05/17/2019 This all-too-timely film provides a strong and sensitive portrait of an overlooked part of the women's liberation movement. Ask For Jane is nuanced, funny, and full of heart. See more Read all reviews
