The film seems inexplicably tame, the least interesting execution of a radical concept. Go to Full Review

Boll spends so much time painting Jim into the corner required to "justify" his bonkers actions that once the film's fuse is irrevocably lighted, viewers may have already checked out. Go to Full Review

This zeitgeist-tapping revenge fantasy doesn't deliver enough guilty pleasures. Go to Full Review

It's as subtle and as silly as you would expect, with an ending that's both a rally cry and request for a sequel. Go to Full Review

Seemingly inspired by "Taxi Driver" with its security guard stand-in for Travis Bickle wasting Wall Street brokers who are arguably worse than the pimps in "Taxi Driver". Go to Full Review

Because it wouldn't be Boll if there wasn't borderline irresponsible storytelling. Go to Full Review

Victor O Sep 28 I saw this listed in Natassia Malthe’s filmography and wondered if it was worth my time. I also noticed the poster, seeing Dominic Purcell looking like a badass, but I grew nervous when I saw that this was directed by Uwe Boll. While not the greatest director in the world, I think the idea of him being the worst in the world is overdone. So, I decided to watch. 2008. Jim Baxford is an ordinary New Yorker living his life in the worst time of America with the Housing Market bursting as a big-time investment banker is dumping all of his failed investments on all stockbrokers, forcing Jim and his wife to suffer for it. Once believing he had it safe in his investments, the loss of his money brings a hard time to his family, his wife in particular as he loses it all but his life. But it’s all he needs to lash out in a concentrated series of murders that a coolly planned, thanks to his military training as he wreaks havoc on those who destroyed him. Whoa, this was pretty damn cool. This was a solid story and I can see why it was made after the recession that struck. The first half of the movie is a saddening depiction of what probably happened to a lot of people who lost their savings and homes that it sets your nerves on end. The last half is the revenge flick that all those people so desperately wanted, especially when governments refused to regulate the behavior of all those bankers that never got punished for it. Dominic Purcell was awesome, and I am surprised that Boll is still seen as a bad director, because this was a well told story. Easily Uwe Bolls best film See more Giorgio G 07/31/2023 I am surely no friend of Dominic Purcell as he mostly only acts in crappy violent B-movies, and though this might not be a real B-movie, one can easily use the fast-forward button to skip over 60-70% of the movie as the only really interesting and actually enjoyable part is the mass killing of all those banker jerks who live luxury lives on the backs of simple trusting folks. Thumbs up for the ending, though the rest of the movie is quite regular. 4 or 5 out of 10 points. See more Kyle J 02/17/2023 Another dud with a 70-minute introduction. Then it gets ridiculous. See more Renato d 02/16/2023 I have just seen this film. I liked it very much. Awesome!!!! See more Read all reviews
