Nancy P Fabulous cinematography, wonderful story....a sweet tribute to forgiveness and indigenous people throughout the world. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/24 Full Review Jilda L Three of us went together to see the showing at the Oakland Grand Lake Theater were very impressed by both the movie and the venue. The cinematography and story were fantastic and we were pretty much riveted to our seats. The acting was superb! We are from Hawaii so felt that the story was as authentic as it could be. The only thing that was mentioned was that it seemed as though all of the many things that happened during the film could not have all taken place in one long day. It seemed as though it could have taken place over at least two days, there was so much content. We loved it and felt honored to have been there to watch it. The after show interview with the folks that made the film was informative also. Highly recommend it! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/28/24 Full Review Mark R I really enjoyed the film. It's beautiful! I felt like I was there! I could feel the heat and almost smell the smells. The story is compelling. I felt chills every time Pele appeared! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/19/24 Full Review Stephanie Anne L HAWAII! Everyone's heard of it. Many have visited. Most have an idea of what they picture when they think of Hawaii. But you don't know Hawaii unless you immerse yourself in its culture. And I don't mean the Hula in Waikiki. (Although there is nothing wrong with that.) I mean it's deeper culture. It's history. It's language. It's people. It's traditions. There are sooooo many reason to watch this film. Not only is the Island itself a star of the show, but it's an education crafted into a beautiful story. The Hawaiian history and mythology is very accurate. And the ending has a message that all humans need to hear right now. Seriously, pay attention to the words of the song towards the end. It's a beautiful arthouse vibe film with a beautiful message. As if supporting independent filmmakers and the importance of elevating independent voices, weren't enough. You'll also feast on beautiful cinematography and a delightful story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/27/24 Full Review Bhavana C I had some friends over at my home for a viewing party/movie night to watch this movie together. We all loved it. Well done with beautiful scenery, a bit of suspense, Hawaiian spirituality, bridging a connection between cultures. I live on Kauai and it was all the more special knowing it was made by a local writer/director and starred a local actress. Highly recommend! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Jac O Beautiful cinematography together with a respectful exploration of Hawaiian culture. I loved it. A must see!
