Brian Tallerico HollywoodChicago.com A new thriller with three talented actors nonetheless caught in an ineffective film that stretches to meet its running time and then ends with a final act that destroys suspension of disbelief. Rated: 2.0/5.0 Apr 6, 2012 Full Review Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter This ATM-set horror film fails to dispense sufficient thrills. Apr 6, 2012 Full Review Kyle Smith New York Post Not much about the movie makes sense, though there are occasional schlocky thrills. Rated: 1/4 Apr 6, 2012 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens [S]tay for the credits!!!! The end titles are meticulously designed and extremely integral and telling in the story as a whole. Nov 26, 2019 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X There are some suspenseful moments, but by the time we get to the finale, we feel manipulated and underestimated as viewers. This is not the kind of withdrawal we were hoping for from this ATM. Rated: C Feb 2, 2019 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed Miserable and absolutely void of creativity to the point where it can't even come up with a colorful villain. Audience Member “ATM” is one of the worst films I’ve ever seen and I don’t say that lightly. The film is dull and ridiculous. It ignores logic countless times such as 2 guys can easily overpower one guy or should be able to. On top of that, if both walked out of the atm building and each went the opposite way then one of them would get to safety. Or, how about when the patrol car is there and they don’t even bother to try to get into it and at least see if it works. These characters are boneheads and horribly written. This script wouldn’t even work in film class, so why did it get greenlit? Definitely avoid this film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/24 Full Review Jason M The dialogue and character development in the beginning of the film was so cringe I had to fast-forward 20-some minutes to when they're finally in the ATM vestibule. Jumping ahead didn't help in the least, because I was then bombarded with completely illogical decision making and implausible plot holes that made the story almost infuriatingly unwatchable. And what can I say about the ending other than: REALLY? Save this 90 minutes of your life for an Ed Wood or Tommy Wiseau film, any of which would be Citizen Kane compared to this movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Alexander D not as bad as what everyone says the first 15 minutes are pretty bad but it just works to make you hate that character later on so it all works in the end Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Michael C ??? Genuinely baffled at the reviews all around. Thought it was a lot of fun. I swear this is misrepresented by the RT score Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Regina P I actually thought this was clever. I could tell it was low budget, so I managed my expectations. I could tell early the purpose of the villain standing back from the door entrance. And I could tell halfway through who was going to take the fall for everything. The story was missing something extremely important, though. Motive. I really needed that to be in there somewhere to provide some sort of emotional closure. It never came. I'm a little disappointed in that. He did all that for what? Perhaps I need to look at the end credits again. Maybe I missed it. I still think the motive should have been made clear for the viewer. The author takes us through this journey, and then drops us off in the middle of the desert. Not nice.
