John DeFore Hollywood Reporter Its dedicated interviewees make the subject's seriousness undeniable, and with luck, their cause will attract attention as the film tours theatrically. And maybe check the maps and be very aware of whether there are untreated Superfund sites near where you live. Audience Member While good for bringing attention to an important issue, this film was more about fear mongering than education. Facts were conflated and experts were deliberately made to appear as evil conspirators. Two separate situations were made to look far more connected than they actually are. Anyone attempting to present scientific information was immediately countered with pure emotion. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/27/19 Full Review Audience Member Very disappointed at the lack of non-self-reported data. Came across, to me, as a complaint about landfill stink that's pissing off the locals and stay at home moms. I don't doubt there is waste, and I don't doubt the EPA avoided, however I know for a fact that some of the written on screen information was false. The minimal clear information and data from the concerned citizen side gave me the perception it was more scripted reality TV to draw attention, which wasn't what I was expecting. They constantly talk about the newest reports and information, but don't provide any information on where that information came from. Anyone with some type of background or education mostly appeared to be on the "bad" team, and were given cherry picked screen time. Really disappointed that a true issue that deserves attention and correction was portrayed this way. Excellent topic and definitely needs addressed, but for hells sake this almost made the "good" guys come across as uneducated publicity whores (maybe it's the radioactive exposure, who knows!) can't say enough how disappointed I was. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a fact following documentary. More about inciting a particular emotion than providing any useful information. Blurs the lines between the disadvantages of living near a "smelly" landfill and the risks of a "nuclear" landfill. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Great work. Story is almost unbelievable Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/18 Full Review Audience Member Crazy and extremely sad Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/18 Full Review Audience Member A powerful indictment of various authorities involved with the North St. Louis communities near a superfund site. It was very difficult to watch, but the issues are real and not confined to this portion of the country. I hope you enjoy hearing the corporate and public officials try to placate the residents by telling them that there is nothing to worry about, that there is no connection between their cancers and the spread of radioactive isotopes into their homes. Yes, it's the same defense that the tobacco industry used to hid the effects of smoking! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
