Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Inspiring and moving. Mar 15, 2018 Full Review Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times Keach should have trusted the power of Augie and Lynn's story, rather than adding ... unnecessary, ineffective flourishes. Mar 15, 2018 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Augie will resonate most deeply with those who appreciate overcoming bordering on high inspiration films. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 2, 2020 Full Review Jonathan W. Hickman Daily Film Fix Stories like this need to be told and celebrated. And with "Augie," actor turned filmmaker James Keach delivers an inspiring take on a man whose purpose was revealed only after his body turned on him. Rated: 7/10 Apr 13, 2018 Full Review Bob Bloom Journal and Courier (Lafayette, IN) 'Augie' simply is not your standard inspirational documentary about one man's fight against a dread disease. It's also a love story that celebrates the connection between Augie and his wife, Lynn, who has stayed by his side and ... been his voice. Rated: 3/4 Mar 19, 2018 Full Review Pete Hammond Deadline Hollywood Daily A surprisingly upbeat, inspiring documentary about a fitness industry giant's battle against ALS and the love story that makes him prevail. Audience Member This movie is very enjoyable and heartbreaking. Defiantly worth watching, especially if you want to see a real story of someone who has everything then has to struggle as he looses it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Just watched Augie at the suggestion of a friend. What a movie!! It really makes you think how lucky we are to be alive regardless of our circumstances. Clearly Augie decided to make the most of his life before and more importantly after his ALS diagnosis. Take 78 minutes from your day to watch this movie. You will not regret it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny, poignant, inspiring story -- Watching the journey of Augie and Lynne Nieto from 'masters of the universe' to caring activists is unique and touching. Nieto founded LifeFitness, drove his Ferrari, worked too much, partied and made money until his ALS diagnosis 13 years ago. It's beautiful to watch Augie and his incredible wife, Lynne as they comprehend the news - from devastation to humility and vulnerability, and then hope and determination to LIVE and fund the development of a drug. Filmmaker James Keach performs a miracle (ANOTHER miracle, after Glen Campbell... I'll Be Me) in making a movie that includes Augie's perspective using green-screen, Augie's computer screen, and tons of humor. Makes you appreciate all you have and examine the priorities you choose... Loved this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
