Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com The only reason to watch this picture is for the novelty value of feeling bad for Chris Klein and/or Teri Polo. To each his own, but my recommendation is "pass." Rated: 1/4 Apr 18, 2014 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times "Authors Anonymous" proves too kindhearted to stick to its satirical guns; even the documentary conceit recedes when it becomes inconvenient. Apr 17, 2014 Full Review Inkoo Kang Los Angeles Times "Authors Anonymous" makes the same mistake it chides its characters for: hero worship. Apr 17, 2014 Full Review Betty Jo Tucker ReelTalk Movie Reviews Each of the players comes across as a one-note stereotype with the same kind of behavior going on in practically every scene. Jun 7, 2014 Full Review Sandie Angulo Chen Common Sense Media Tiresome ensemble comedy pokes fun at publishing industry. Rated: 1/5 Apr 29, 2014 Full Review Marsha McCreadie Film Journal International ...Authors Anonymous manages to be sweet-tempered mainly thanks to lead Kaley Cuoco. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/24 Full Review Keith C Wish I could rate it lower Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/24 Full Review Audience Member Decent watch at best, probably won't watch again, and can't recommend. This is one of those movies that looks like it is written for writers, and it's not that its bad, but the target audience shifts away from people that normally watch movies. A group of struggle-writers basically begins to break up when the youngest, hottest woman in the group wins the networking game and moves on to a better life. If you're not familiar with L.A. / Hollywood culture, or not a writer, or unfamiliar with the road to fame, then you're not going to get the full effect of this movie. I get a lot of it, and don't find it to be substantial. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Cute dramedy. I hate when people rape movies like this and give it low stars. It’s just a little movie to enjoy get over yourselves. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/21 Full Review Audience Member I'm a writer and laughed so hard at so many scenes -- I was depressed when it came on and in a whole 'nother place by the end. Loved it and already recommended it to some of my writer friends. I just read some of the other reviews after I wrote mine and ouch! I'd hate to be a member of their critique groups. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Could have been better executed, interesting characters but not much in plot. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
