Anton Bitel Little White Lies It is almost as though Kitano is saying that nothing can stop him from defeating the rivals, successors and pretenders who, in his absence, have tried to move in on his (generic) turf Mar 5, 2013 Full Review Jon Frosch The Atlantic How can anyone can get excited over something so grim and redundant? Bob A succinct Christmas card to the deceit of the yakuza from the deft hand of Takeshi Kitano. A slap in the face of any romantic notions of loyalty or brotherhood. The only part that felt hacked was the stolen dead prostitute blackmail scheme from Godfather 2. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/10/23 Full Review samitha b Boring story coupled with actors with one facial expression get you this. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member It is a solid Yakuza movie that would have benefited from a more talented editor. There is plenty of scheming and back stabbing, but the manner in which the movie is structured is so convoluted that most of it gets lost in the wash. Shown in all of its brutality, yet not so overboard as to be garish. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Reminded me a lot about American and Italian mob movies. I guess mafia is pretty much the same all over the world. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty accurate title. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
